Varna Library, Bulgaria,

Design for the new public library in Varna, intended to house over a million volumes, as well as educational, research and working facilities, spread across a built area of 18,500 m2. In addition to excellence as a contemporary library with cutting edge technology, the proposal also presented solutions to address the brief’s concerns that it would be an integrating part of the urban and cultural life of the city, with plenty of public spaces at ground level and public access to some of the facilities throughout the building.
